THIS POSITION MAY BE TELEWORK.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week.

Location: Centre of Tallahassee Building, 2415 N. Monroe Street, Suite 400 Tallahassee, FL 32303.

Regular business hours of operation are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST, Monday - Friday.

Some travel may be required.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in social work or related area of study from an accredited college or university required. Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college education.
    • Note: Be prepared to provide a copy of your degree/diploma or request official transcripts from your school in a sealed envelope. All documents must be in English, clear, and legible, showing all signatures and pertinent details. Foreign degrees must be validated by a third party to meet the US equivalency requirements. All costs are the responsibility of the applicant.
  • At minimum, 2 years’ experience working as an advocate and/or policy analyst.

Preference will be given to applicants who have:

  • At least one year of experience related to human trafficking or related field,must be reflected on your candidate profile and/or resume.
  • Work experience with any State of Florida Government Agency.
  • Knowledge of the contract management process, program evaluation, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of social work.
  • Knowledgeof the human trafficking field.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This is a highly responsible position requiring extensive knowledge of policy analysis and human trafficking in Florida. The incumbent will play a pivotal part in shaping and advancing policies that directly impact the well-being of human trafficking victims and survivors.

  • Develop and apply the policies, procedures, and programs governing the agency.
  • Read, understand, apply complicated and detailed regulations, and policy directives, including reading and analyzing proposed legislation to determine impact to the Department.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with community stakeholders.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and accurate records and reports.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate ability to create project plans and meet timelines and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research, develop, and analyze human trafficking policies, ensuring they align with best practices and the evolving needs of the community.
  • Apply lived experience to provide insights into the practical implications and potential challenges of proposed policies.
  • Act as a liaison between the organization and individuals with lived experience in human trafficking, ensuring their voices are heard in policy discussions.
  • Engage with government agencies, advocacy groups, and community stakeholders to build alliances and influence policy decisions.
  • Assess the effectiveness of existing human trafficking programs and policies, identifying areas for improvement based on your unique perspective and understanding of the system.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate internal staff, external partners, and policymakers about the realities and nuances of human trafficking from a lived experience perspective.
  • Conduct in-depth research on trends, best practices, and innovative approaches in human trafficking policy, utilizing data to inform evidence-based recommendations.
  • Analyze demographic data to identify disparities and inequities within human trafficking, proposing strategies to address them.
  • Participate in community outreach initiatives to connect with families, individuals, and organizations affected by human trafficking, fostering a collaborative and inclusive approach to policy development.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for the position:

This position requires knowledge of human trafficking programs and policy along with related Florida Statutes, Administrative Code and Operating Procedures. Knowledge of compiling, organizing, and analyzing data. Ability to evaluate the quality of service to clients and evaluate programs. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish effective working relationships and work as a team member.
