On June21, Board of Regents Chair Lisa Keohokalole Schauer appointed 21members from the WSU community to serve on the advisory committee that will help select the university’s next president.
After careful consideration of over 150 applications, the regents presiding over the presidential search advisory committee recommended the following individuals to the committee:

The newly appointed committee members represent many of the WSU community groups that have a vested interest in the success of Washington State University; including students, faculty, staff, community leaders, alumni, and donors from across the state and the system.
“We are grateful for the extensive and sincere responsiveness of the university’s shared governance and our state-wide community partners,” said Jenette Ramos, vice chair of the Board of Regents and chair of the presidential search advisory committee. “We ultimately reached a composition of distinct experiences that collectively represents the breadth of Washington State University, and I look forward to working alongside these exemplary individuals. All voices are valued and we encourage everyone to participate in the public engagement process starting in late August.”
With the appointment of the 21 new members, Schauer noted, “This is a monumental step toward ensuring that WSU is able to build on our existing momentum as we select our next President to lead us in achieving our land grant mission.”

Next steps
The next steps in the search include onboarding the search advisory committee and soliciting the university community and affiliates of WSU for feedback on the president leadership profile that will be used to attract potential candidates to the role.
The draft leadership profile — developed based on the input from the faculty, staff, and students earlier this spring as well as the Board of Regents in early June — will be presented during a series of listening sessions that will take place at the start of the fall semester.
